Political Volunteer Representation of International Voluntary Services (PFIF)
YOU can change weltwärts! weltwärts is a joint project of governmental and civil society organisations that implement and develop the programme together. Former volunteers have come together to form the Political Volunteer Representation of International Voluntary Services (PFIF), in order to participate politically and practically in the development of weltwärts through the Programme Steering Committee (PSC), the weltwärts bodies, and various thematic working groups. Since 2012, PFIF has been an established part of the weltwärts steering structure and has since made many positive contributions. For example, PFIF and other former volunteers strongly advocated early on for the introduction of the South-North component and strengthening inclusion and diversity through their perspectives. Would you like to get to know PFIF better and join in? You are very welcome! As an alumni, you already have everything it takes to represent the interests of volunteers as part of PFIF. You’re an expert on voluntary service and can share first-hand what worked well and where there’s room for improvement. Help shape seminars
Enrich seminars of various organisations with your volunteer service experiences. Whether at pre- and post-departure seminars or during specific topic trainings – share your knowledge and develop yourself further in the process.
Be a contact person for future volunteers
Remember how helpful advice from alumni was for you – now you can take on that role yourself! Offer future volunteers insights into the application process, life on-site or your project. Just leave your contact details with your weltwärts organisation.
Support the selection process
Help find the right candidates for the volunteer service! Your perspective as a former volunteer enriches the selection process – from interviews to organizing information days and making decisions. Your involvement makes a difference!
Share experiences and knowledge
Your volunteer service experience is the best promotion! Whether at talks in (vocational) schools, community centres, or fairs - tell your story and help raise awareness of weltwärts and the host organizations. Many organisations are looking forward to your support!

Become a member
Many weltwärts organizations are non-profit associations where you can become a member and get involved. As a member, your contribution helps enable important work within the organization. The membership fee is often low but has a significant impact. Alternatively, you can also directly support many organizations with a donation.

Discover internships and jobs with weltwärts organisations! Gain experience, get involved, and connect social engagement with your career. Whether as a permanent staff member or in project work – former volunteers are often employed with organisations during or after their studies or training.

Do you have an exciting project idea that you want to implement? Whether it’s about improving volunteer services, fighting racism, or a project on climate justice – contact an organisation. Maybe you will soon be developing the idea together.
