Get funding for your project
Shaping the world through engagement
With the Engagiert die Welt gestalten (Engagiert) program, associations and educational institutions in Germany can apply for up to €10,000 to support awareness-raising and educational projects. Eligible projects include conferences, workshops, seminars or creative initiatives with a global justice focus – like exhibitions on fair trade, SDG project days, climate-related film projects or seminars on migration and development.
Bring ambitious projects to life in Germany
Through the Development Education Program (FEB), you can apply for up to €20,000 in funding – together with a non-profit organization, such as an association – for large-scale or long-term global learning projects in Germany. This can include multi-year training series, conferences, or large-scale events like the "undjetzt?!" conference.
Small projects with a big impact
The action! – Active for a Global World program offers up to €500 for smaller educational activities in rural areas across Germany. Projects that highlight global connections – such as a fair food cooking night, a city tour exploring colonial traces in public spaces, or a clothing swap event with info on supply chains – are all eligible. Applications are simple, and you'll receive personal support from DSEE.
Get advice for your involvement!
Not sure how or where to get involved after your volunteer service? Do you have a great idea for a project and want to know who could fund it? The advisory team at Engagement Global is here to support you with guidance, answers, and helpful tips for making your ideas a reality.
Good to Know
You’re a former South-North volunteer, interested in the offers but have returned to your home country? A residence in Germany is required to use Engagement Global's funding programs. However, you can start a project with friends or contacts in Germany - or connect with other alumni in the Worldwide Network (WWN)!
Individual support
Professional exchange for sustainable development
Team works! offers young professionals and trainees from African countries the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in German companies – and enables young professionals from Germany to take part in job shadowing placements in African countries. The focus is on sustainable development and international teamwork. The program, run by the German-African Youth Office (DAJW), covers travel and accommodation costs. Age of participation: 18 to 30 years.
Receive a scholarship for international exchange
Do you want to contribute to sustainable change? The ASA Program shows you how to take action. Each year, Engagement Global supports 280 young people with an ASA scholarship, allowing them to participate in projects for at least three months – in Germany and in countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Southeast Europe.
Give back
No time or energy to actively volunteer or take part in further training, but still want to give something back to the community? Then you’re in the right place! Our goal is to build a community that can sustainably support and finance itself in the long run. We’re still in the development phase – but you can already make a difference. Here are 3 ways you can support the community!

Get involved: A Fund for former South-North volunteers
The grenzenlos team is currently developing a concept for a South-North Fund – created by alumni, for alumni. The aim is to offer former South-North volunteers accessible and low-barrier financial support for their project ideas and personal development after their voluntary service. Right now, there are still major differences in support and development opportunities between North-South and South-North volunteers. Want to help us change that? Excited to co-create the fund or share your ideas and thoughts with us?
